Weekly Grocery Challenge – Thanksgiving Edition (Shopped For the Next Two Weeks)

What is the $60 Weekly Grocery Challenge?

Each week my goal is to spend approximately $60 for food, drinks, groceries, toiletries and medicine for my family of five. Then, I report on this blog the items that I bought, the best sales and coupon match-ups that I found and hopefully by doing so, help you stretch your family’s grocery budget, as well!

How Did I Do This Week?

Aldi Trip – Spent $46.88
Harris Teeter Trip – Spent $60.73, Saved $80.55

Total – Spent $107.61

This week, I decided to go ahead and shop for the next two weeks. I purchased a few items that I am taking to a Thanksgiving gathering this weekend, the final items I need to host a Thanksgiving dinner at my house, plus extra food to have on hand since the family will be home together more than usual.

Next week, I just want to enjoy Thanksgiving break with my family, as well as Christmas shop, without having to squeeze in a trip to the grocery store.

We will see how it goes. I may need to pick up an additional item or two (such a milk and bread) over the next two weeks, but for the most part, I should be covered, as I have a wide variety of items on hand.

Aldi Shopping Trip

Spent $46.88

Deals at Aldi this week include $.89 cranberry sauce, $.99 bag of onions, $1.99 Hawaiian rolls, $2.69 bag of potatoes, $2.99 bag of gala apples and more!
